A highly regarded civil litigation firm located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles is actively seeking a full-time Paralegal to join its team of legal professionals. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, with a solid grasp of discovery processes, legal document drafting, and case management. Experience or familiarity with subrogation law is a plus, though not required.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management
Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation—from intake through trial and post-trial matters
Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic) to ensure accessibility and compliance
Discovery Support
Draft and respond to discovery requests (interrogatories, requests for production, RFAs)
Organize, review, and manage large volumes of documents
Prepare privilege logs and assist with e-discovery processes
Coordinate with opposing counsel for discovery matters
Document Preparation
Draft, proof, and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, declarations, subpoenas, and correspondence
Legal Research
Perform legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis to support case preparation and legal arguments
Trial Preparation
Assemble trial binders and exhibits
Prepare witness files, chronologies, jury instructions, and verdict forms
Coordinate with expert witnesses and manage their documentation
Client & Court Communication
Act as liaison between clients and attorneys
Provide updates, coordinate information, and respond to inquiries professionally
Calendar & File Management
Maintain attorney calendars for deadlines, hearings, and filing dates
Ensure deadlines are met and team members are informed
Oversee an organized, compliant filing system (digital and physical)
Deposition Coordination
Schedule depositions and manage logistics (reporters, videographers, interpreters)
Draft deposition summaries and provide support during proceedings
Billing & Time Tracking
Track billable hours and time entries accurately
Assist with invoicing and time documentation
Qualifications
3+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation
Strong understanding of California court rules and filing procedures
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Excellent writing and communication skills
Familiarity with subrogation matters (preferred but not required)
Proficient in document management systems and legal research platforms
